Christmas...2 weeks...EEK!!!

I can't believe Christmas is just 2 weeks away!  When I was a child it seemed to take forever for Christmas to arrive!  Now days, the year screams by.  I love watching my grandkids talk about Christmas.  They get so excited as they talk about their Christmas lists.  I love to see their eyes light up as they count down the days until 'Santa' arrives.  It warms my heart.  I get excited with them as they share their joy with me.

My hubby and I don't usually exchange gifts any more.  I guess that after 37 years of marriage, it doesn't seem so important.  Once in a while we will, but not often.

My hubby works outside and he absolutely hates the cold.  A couple of years ago I decided to get him the gift of a mid-winter trip to somewhere warm.  I was hoping it would give him a reprieve from the cold...even if it was just for a few days.  {smiles}  So, I secretly purchased plane tickets for a short trip.  I came up with this idea for giving him the gift, too.  I bought a little toy airplane and a little slot machine game (I couldn't think of anything else to 'give away' the location).  Gift #1 was the airplane.  Gift #2 was the slot machine game.  Gift #3 was an envelope with the tickets.  It was fun for me to watch him open each one.  It wasn't difficult for him to figure out what or where, but I loved watching him guess.

This year, I have a gift for him.  He knows I do, but he doesn't know what.  I would tell you here, but there is a slim chance he will look at this blog and I don't want to give it away.  After Christmas I'll let you know.  {smiles}

Anyway, I am excited about Christmas.  I am excited to watch my 9 beautiful grandbabies (ranging in age from 3 months to 15 years) open their gifts from Nana & B'bo!  I am excited to share our traditional Christmas dinner with my parents, my 4 amazing kids, my 4 amazing additions to our family (via marriage to my kids) & my 9 grandkids.  I am even more excited to see each of those 17 people , as well as my hubby, acknowledge the birth of our Savior!  Yes, we get excited over the gifts, etc., but we all know the real celebration is the celebration of the Greatest Gift ever given...Jesus Christ!

I pray that you have an absolutely wonderful and blessed Christmas.  And I would like to help you by inviting you to be a part of our 2nd Annual Christmas Blessing Giveaway!  One blessed reader will win $200 in PayPal cash to help her family this holiday season.
