Forever Satisfaction vs. Temporary Satisfaction

This morning I was reading in Hosea, particularly chapters 3 and 4.  There was a verse in chapter 4 that hit me like a ton of bricks this morning!

The last part of verse 7 says, "...They have exchanged the glory of God for the shame of idols."

How often have we done just that...traded the glory of God for the shame of __________.  We can fill in the blank with anything from the shame of idols to infidelity to filthy language to impure thoughts to money to fame and so on.  I think that any one of us can fill in the blank with something that we have traded the glory of God for.

I most certainly do not want to trade the glory of God for anything.  There is nothing, NOTHING, that can replace the glory of God.

Why is it that we humans think that we can do so much better than the love of our Creator!??  There is NOTHING on the face of this earth that is better or more satifsying that God.  Think of His mercy!  Think of His grace!  Think of His love!  Anything that we could possibly trade His glory for will only provide temporary satisfaction.

Wouldn't you rather have forever satisfaction over temporary satisfaction?  I mosty certainy want the forever that God offers.

Much to think and pray on, I would say...

I want the forever satisfaction of God's glory. In this busy world and the way the world is going today people think it is better to have something else but it certainly isn't. I thank God for being in my life daily and I don't want anything to take His place. Love your post.

Blessings to you and love you.
