What a wonderful weekend...

Good Morning!  I pray that you all had an amazing Mother's Day!  This past weekend has been W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L!  Friday was my birthday and I got to spend it at the races watching my hubby win his heat race and finish 5th in his feature!  Three of my 4 kids and 6 of my 8 grandkids were there.  Then on Saturday, we got to enjoy some more amazing family time with everybody plus some very dear friends, whom we consider family, for my youngest grandson's birthday.  We enjoyed some time playing volleyball and watching the kids play.

Then came Mother's Day!  My beautiful parents surprised me at church as I preached a Mother's Day sermon.  That was a hard one to preach...I'm trying to NOT cry as I preach and nearly everybody in the congregation was crying...including my parents!  WOW!  Prayerfully, God spoke to someone about their mother-figure.  You know, being a mother doesn't necessarily mean you gave birth to someone.  In fact, it doesn't even mean you are a female.  There are many men in this world that must take on the 'mother' role at one time or another in the life of the children they love.  My hat is off to anyone that has been the the situation where they mothered someone!

As wonderful as my weekend was, there was a part of me that is heartbroken.  I do not understand how a family that loves God and serves in ministry can let the enemy slip in and destroy what God put together!  My heart is broken for the families that are torn apart because the enemy has brainwashed them.

I can only pray for these friends and let God do the work.  And I do...I pray that God will open blinded eyes and heal hurting hearts.  He is the only one that can 'fix' this brokenness!  God's grace is always sufficient...

"Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you.  He will not permit the godly to slip and fall."
Psalm 55:22 (NLT)

Debi, this past weekend has been one that I am so glad that Dad and I was a part of. There was so much going on and yet it was so wonderful. I am so proud of our family, the love that is shown to each other. I too take my hat off to anyone that has been the mother figure as it is so important.

Blessings to you and I love you so very much.

It was a wonderful weekend.

Only God can heal broken hearts and opened blinded eyes. And so true that His grace is always sufficient!
