The Providence of God...

There is nothing better than waking up at the beach.  Now, we aren't literally on the beach...we are in a motel with an ocean front view.  It is amazing.  Roll out of bed and look out the window and see the magnificence of God's creation...there is nothing so amazing!  Well, at least not in my book.  It is especially wonderful when I get to share the time with family.  My only regret this year is that all my kids didn't get to come.

Last night (Sunday evening), 11 of the 12 of us were out playing in the ocean with boogie boards.  It was so much fun.  Kendil...my beautiful daughter that loves the beach but hates the 'icky' sand and 'dirty' water...was at the poolside reading a book.  I love when you can feel God's presence.  I certainly did last night.  While playing in the ocean, I began to feel an urgency to get out of the water.  I told Jeremy (one of my son's-in-law/son) that we needed to get out of the water.  He totally believes that God gives us 'feelings' and he trusts when someone says that they 'feel' that it's time to do or not do something.  Jeremy began gathering up the little ones (ages 13, 11, 10, 8, & 6) and he, David (another son-in-law/son) and I helped get them to water's edge where Jenifer (my beautiful daughter) & Ben (4 yr. old grandson) were.  As we turned around to look, there it was again.  A fin!

Now I am not completely oblivious...there is a great chance that the fin was a dolphin and not a shark.  However, seeing that I felt that feeling of urgency...certain that it was from God...I am leaning more towards it being a shark and not a dolphin.  As we stood on the shore, we were talking to others on the shore and we were told that the lifeguards had cleared the water earlier in the day.  So, with that information and the urgency that I felt from God, I am certain it was a shark.  We continued to watch the water and there were several more times we saw the 'fins.'

I am so glad that I was open to God.  I am so glad that Jeremy didn't just poo-poo away my 'feeling.'    I am glad that God loves us and protects us.

Walking the walk & talking the talk...from the beach,

God speaks to us. We have to be open and aware of Him at all times.
