"1.  Make a joyful noise unto the LORD,
all ye lands.
2.  Serve the LORD with gladness:
come before his presence with singing.
3.  Know ye that the LORD he is God:
it is he that hath made us,
and not we ourselves;
we are his people,
and the sheep of his pasture.
4.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5.  For the LORD is good;
his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations."
Psalm 100 (KJV)

I really wanted to write about springtime today, but God kept putting this Psalm in my spirit.  It is one of my favorite passages in the entire Bible.  Make...joyful noise to God.  You don't have to sing well, you don't have to sing...God just wants us to make noise to Him!  Serve...Him with gladness.  I have a note in the margin of this Scripture saying 'with your WHOLE heart.'  God doesn't want us to serve Him half-heartedly.  Know...that He is God and He created us.  We belong to Him!  Enter...His gates with thanksgiving! and His courts with praise!  Meditate on Him and be thankful for what He has given us!!!  The Lord is Good...His mercy is everlasting and He will endure forever!

If this passage of Scripture doesn't set your heart to dancing before God, then perhaps your heart must need to be jump started!  I can read these 5 short verses any time I'm feeling low and it will pick me up as I begin to make that joyful noise to God.  As I begin to serve Him with my whole heart my mood begins to look upward!  When I meditate on God and begin to give Him thanks for what He has blessed me with, I begin to feel joy.  As I think about His everlasting mercy I can't help but begin to dance before Him...perhaps not physically, but certainly in my spirit!

God is so good and He will always be there for me...if I don't 'feel' Him, it's not because He has moved away...it's because I have.  I just need to be kicked in the seat and get back to the basics sometimes.  Psalm 100 is that kick in the seat for me.

Have a great day in the Lord.

I LOVE this Psalm!! My 'noise' may not be beautiful but I will make a JOYFUL noise anyway. I will praise Him with my whole heart! Great post.

I love that passage too! Our noise sounds beautiful to Him when we lift it up in worship to our King. :)

That's one of my favorite Psalms as well Debi. In my case, I find that "joyful noise" when I hear my boys singing along with the Christian music on the radio in the morning ride to school. :-)

Have a Blessed Day!

Debi, you did it again. I need to check your blog every hour to make sure I don't miss one. You always have such wonderful posts. I love singing and I can't carry a tune for anything. I use to sing anyway but so many times people looked at me like I was crazy so now I sing with my heart. God is the only one that really matters anyway. He doesn't care if I can't carry a tune just as long as it comes from the heart. He loves my noise. Thanks for a lovely post and reminder. Blessings to you and love you.
