God just gave me a 'little nugget.' My husband and I are getting ready to leave for vacation in a few days. This got me to thinking about a few things.
Why is it that when people take a vacation they also take a vacation from God? So many people fail to pay their tithes for the week they are vacationing. Many people take a vacation from reading their Bible and praying. And what about attending church? There is no law that says that you can't 'attend' a different church in a different city while you are on vacation.
Does God take a vacation from answering our prayers? Does God take a vacation from protecting us? Doe God take a vacation from being our guide? I would say that the answer to all of these questions is a firm "NO!" God never sleeps...He never forsakes us! But we forsake Him all the time.
Now, I can say that I have never forgotten about paying my tithes while on vacation...I always make sure that I get them in to the church! I can't say the same for reading my Bible & praying or attending a church while out of town. I always seem to have good intentions, but when Sunday rolls around on vacation, I surmise that I just lay in bed or get up and get going 'on vacation.'
I am going to attempt to do a better job of walking the walk that I talk this year on vacation. I don't want to get to heaven and find that God has 'taken a vacation.' If God is ALWAYS with me...and He is...then why can't I always be with Him?
Thank you, God for giving me this little nugget this morning. With Your help, I know that I can do better this year and in the future. Amen.

That is good. In years past I can honestly say I didn't even take my Bible on vacation. This year I while on the family reunion trip I made sure to take my Bible and spend time with God. Thank you for this.
People going on vacation need to realize that the world doesn't stop and God doesn't stop either! Why do people forget to pay their tithes and go to church while on vacation?
